About John

There was a night not long ago when I went to bed at 5:30 in the morning.
Not because I was out celebrating but because I was wrestling with doubt. The kind that shows up quietly and questions whether your voice or even your life matters.
When I woke up later that day, I felt something unexpected.
Peace.
Not because the world had changed.
But because I had finished something that mattered to me.
That moment captures why this site exists.
A Life Shaped by Words, Structure and Growth
For four decades, I have worked in education — teaching, mentoring, building curriculum, preparing students for AP exams, SAT tests, college applications, and the next chapter of their lives.
I’ve chaired departments. Built writing programs. Helped students who doubted themselves succeed at levels they never imagined.
But education has always been about more than scores to me.
It has been about discipline. Clarity. Self-belief. And the quiet power of preparation.
My personal motto has long been:
“Today’s preparation for tomorrow’s success.”
And that belief doesn’t stop at the classroom door.
Why LiveLifeWithJohn Exists
Life at 63 looks different than life at 23.
You learn what matters.
You learn what doesn’t.
You learn that structure creates freedom.
You learn that kindness is harder than judgment but far more powerful.
This space is about All Things…Life.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
Not pretending.
But intentional living.
Here you’ll find reflections on books and words.
Conversations about health and discipline.
Thoughts on gardening, learning, aging, family, and growth.
Practical systems that make life simpler and richer.
Everything filtered through one lens: How do we live deliberately?
